What refurbishment actually means here
Every chair that comes into the workshop is stripped down and deep cleaned rather than wiped over. Mesh, frame, base and arm assemblies are cleaned individually, which is the only way to get a chair that has been in daily use for years back to a finish someone is happy to sit in.
The mechanisms are then tested one by one: tilt action and tilt limiter, the gas lift through its full travel, arm height and pivot, the base and the casters. Worn components are replaced rather than passed on — casters, gas lifts, arm pads and mesh where it is needed. The Aeron is genuinely repairable, and that is the whole reason this side of the business works.
Chairs that cannot be brought back to a proper standard are not sold. They are used for parts, which is how we keep the components available to refurbish the rest, and anything left over is recycled through licensed facilities.

What we hold depends entirely on what has come through from recent collections, so rather than publishing a list that goes out of date, we would rather you told us what you are after.
