The Sayl was specified across a lot of London workspaces because it puts a recognisable design and a genuine ergonomic build into a price bracket that scales across a whole floor. The same logic applies second-hand: our buyers are smaller businesses, charities and start-ups furnishing a room at once, and a run of matching Sayl chairs is exactly the product they ask for.

That makes quantity the dominant factor here. Individually the Sayl sits below the Aeron and the Embody, but forty or a hundred consistent chairs is a batch worth quoting on properly rather than handing to a clearance contractor.

What we check

The suspension back is the first thing we look at, since it defines the chair. Intact and under proper tension is what we need; torn, sagging or perished webbing takes the chair out of resale. After that it is the usual list — tilt action, gas lift, base and casters, arms, and the seat upholstery.

Build variation affects the figure without deciding it. Fully adjustable arms and back support add value, armless builds sit lower, and neutral finishes place faster than bold colours. Normal office wear is expected throughout and is what our workshop deals with.

Consistency does the rest. Chairs bought together in a single fit-out are the same build and finish, so they grade fast and resell as one line. A mixed collection of colours and specifications has to be split up and is worth less overall.

Send us a count, the colours and arm types if you know them, and a few phone photos of a representative chair — front, back and a shot of the label under the seat. We come back with an indicative figure, usually within one working day.

For larger volumes we visit, sample-check the batch, and confirm the practicalities of the building — lift access, loading bay booking, protected routes and permitted hours — before issuing a firm written offer. RAMS and insurance certificates are provided in advance for building management sign-off.
